The economic efficiency of extrusion as a design technique is investigated in this proposal for an eight story residential building in Redondo Beach, Los Angeles.

These studies explore geometric and parametric control as a generator of form. Acknowledging that factors of economy and efficiency frequently require construction to rely on flat-packed raw materials, some of these studies consider the ability of flat panels to translate into complex surfaces, while others take advantage of digital fabrication techniques such as 3D printing.
